Hi guys, I'm working on my own set of augmented reality glasses, and am using a raspberry pi 4 as the computer for it l. The thing works fine, but the display is horizontally flipped. Is there a way to change the orientation of the display with commands in the terminal or editing config.txt? Any help would be appreciated, couldn't find much info on this topic anywhere really πŸ˜…

mega_destroyer

Oh yeah and for further context I'm just using the normal 32bit version of raspbian you find on the front page of the imager

mega_destroyer

For even further context this is exactly what you see when looking through the viewfinder

mega_destroyer

You can see that the pi logo which is by default in the top left corner is now in the top right corner

mega_destroyer

the mouse is also horizontally flipped

mega_destroyer

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated πŸ˜…

> 1. Open Menu > Preferences > 2. Select Screen Configuration > 3. In the new window, right-click the display > 4. Select Orientation and choose one of the four options > 5. Click the green check to confirm and apply the new orientation

mega_destroyer

Rotation is not the same as flipping the display horizontally

mega_destroyer

That's the problem

k9t33n

ah yes I see

mega_destroyer

Is there a way to do it with xrandr

k9t33n

not sure, now I see what you mean by it not being documented

mega_destroyer

Yeah

k9t33n

in screen config is Flipping it or something similar there?

mega_destroyer

You can invert it but I think it does both horizontal and vertical which is not what I want

mega_destroyer

Just let me know if anyone gets any sort of solution

mega_destroyer

I'm currently looking at the documentation for xrandr and I think I may have a solution though I doubt it's permanent between reboots

mega_destroyer

I'll try to make a startup script with that xrandr command in it

mega_destroyer

I'll keep you updated

k9t33n

ok thanks

k9t33n

wait if it flips vertically can't you just flip it in real life vertically back? but keep it horizontal still

mega_destroyer

No, as it flips both vertically and horizontally, not asin rotation but mirrored

k9t33n

ah ok

mega_destroyer

dang nothing?

mega_destroyer

Any help appreciated

k9t33n

ok i got an idea tho

k9t33n

any script you run or vidoes you take etc, you just flip them
