Im just trying to play a gif borderless full screen
use a browser, press F11
done
Fullscreen any gif viewer and make it run on startup
Preferably not a browser, it takes up a lot of precious ram
Also gifs are crazy big in size, use any video and make it on loop.
Will be easier on both storage and power consumption.
Do you have a recommendation for which viewer
GIMP can play and edit anim gif and if I remember correct, vlc can play anim gif
VLC is simple and great
And you can easily setup a command to play any media from an external drive via VLC with a command on startup
