my raspberry pi5 is not compatible to the touch screen I bought.

I got a CX070PI-A IPS 7-inch screen and a Rpi 5. The screen itself works but not the touch screen. However, when I connect the touch screen port from my screen to my normal pc, then it does work so its not the screen but the software of the Rpi. I checked Github and saw a few issues in the past with update 5622, that I installed but no change. I switched back from wayland to X11 but that also did not work and I disabled the entire KMS drivers that also didnt work. ANy tips?

k9t33n

wherever you bought it it should give you a link to the drivers

k9t33n

download those onto your pi

.misterdoom

appearantly no drivers are required, I cant seem to find any and other users are having no issue

k9t33n

interesting

k9t33n

is it connected via gpio or the flat cable?

.misterdoom

I tried connecting it through the delivered micro-usb to usb cable (didnt work), i tried another decently high end micro-usb to usb cable (didnt work) and i tried the 4 pin to usb cable (didnt work). the HDMI is via flat cable to micro-hdmi but also a hdmi-micro hdmi cable didnt work

.misterdoom

The screen and the RPI are powered separately using the official cables

shortcirkuitz

Is it receiving enough power, tbh I always prefer gpio fans anyways so I rarely have issues such as these.

k9t33n

hmm can you send a picture?

.misterdoom

I measured, it should be receiving enough power

.misterdoom

k9t33n

does it use both a the hdmi port and the flat SPI cable?

k9t33n

ah ok. as far as I'm aware the pi 5 can not have touch screen via hdmi

.misterdoom

The coloured cable should be the touch screen, but I can also connect the micro USB to USB cable to enable touch but it's also not working

k9t33n

usually a flat SPI cable or gpio is used for that

k9t33n

oh the usb?

.misterdoom

Yea that's what they said, that the 4 pin to USB is touch screen functionality

k9t33n

hmm

k9t33n

can you link where you got this?

.misterdoom

I didn't pay this price for it, like half. But this is the screen

k9t33n

does it have the availability for gpio pins?

.misterdoom

Only for power I am pretty sure

k9t33n

does it only touch the 5v and ground pins?

.misterdoom

This is how I also tried it, according to the manual description. But it didn't work

.misterdoom

I have a feeling that they claim it's for raspberry pi 5, but it's actually not

.misterdoom

Since there's no raspberry pi 5 in the manual, they only mention it on the website

.misterdoom

But I thought it would not make a difference

k9t33n

I don't know anymore

k9t33n

you sure you power supply is 5v 5a?

.misterdoom

Yes, I measured it

.misterdoom

And it works if I connect the USB output to my regular PC

.misterdoom

Then the tablet screen will control my mouse basically

k9t33n

hmm

k9t33n

I have no clue anymore

k9t33n

as a last ditch effort plug it in to your pi and run sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade && sudo reboot now

.misterdoom

I tried that already

.misterdoom

Thanks for the help though

.misterdoom

I will just contact the seller

.misterdoom

I wish there was a magic solution

k9t33n

usually a spi cable or gpio is the magic solution, I prefer to only shop from pi registered sites like pi hut
