How to add Image to Image Gallery

I am learning to code HTML in school and we are using the Introduction to web path and in the code editor there is an image gallery, but I don’t know how to add my own images to the gallery or use my own images as when I add links to the img src=“link” it just pops up as a tiny image icon instead of the image that’s linked. If anyone can help me please respond ASAP because I have this due tomorrow.
