Having probles with putty

I am following this guide(https://beebom.com/how-use-windows-laptop-as-monitor-raspberry-pi/) and am stuck
Just installed putty
my folder
And when I ry o type in rasbery pi local
and open
have conected a ethernet cable
and then whent to see wich is the problem
and how to fix it
but really have no idea
i also have the hdmi to mini hdmi cable if it helpes

i think i found the problem
my ssh is txt
but every time I try to make a non txt
it is a txt
no fixed that still does not work
seeems fine to me
a couple of solutions mention updating the
RNDIS driver but I dont have them
Leave out the local and try it with raspberrypi only.
If that doesn't work either, try using the IP address.
By the way, a little tip: install the OS with the Raspberry Pi Imager, then you can set the username and password as well as the server name yourself and set the WLAN connection if you want to use it.

I have no idea why everyone always works with .local. In the router, the Pi is always only displayed with the name before the .local.
And when I look at /etc/hosts and /etc/hostname it always shows the name before the .local but never name.local.
So I have no idea why so many people use this and it seems to work for them but not for others.
i think ive recognised a pattern
i can only use the ip when the fingerprint is new
but then after that i can use hostname.local
thats with linux mint
I have never used .local, always just the server name and it has always worked even when it was new to the network...
I think the .local is a relic from the old days...

Ah no, the .local is for access via a web browser if the server is in the same network.

Just leave out the .local or use the IP instead of the server name.

Beginner? Choose the top one raspberry pi os 64 bit.
I use lite os because its more efficient but that doesn't give you gui and isn't as intuitive for beginners

Yeah but you cant use vnc (what the original guide) is trying to get you to use or putty without it because you won't have internet
Or you can use a ethernet cable

Should be but if you have an ethernet cable it'd be much easier just to plug that into your laptop
Hotspots and pis don't play too well together

When you created the SD card with Imager you entered a hostname, check your pictures you have posted earlier.
