hello everyone, I came to this server because I need help, I just bought a Raspberry Pi for the first time and I wanted to put adguard but I don't understand everything I can't do it run my ssh. Does anyone want to help me? I follow this tutorial I can't find videos on YouTube that explain it for a beginner https://raspberrytips.fr/adguard-home-sur-raspberry-pi/

akhiraa

I would like to point out that I am not an English speaker (I am French) and I have difficulty with English

akhiraa

I installed Raspberry Pi OS Lite Then with Putty I connect to the raspberry pi I have to order sudo service ssh start Next Edit the crontab as root with this command: sudo crontab –e Add this line to the end of the file: @reboot /usr/sbin/service ssh start Question 1: Should I add # at the beginning of @reboot /usr/sbin/service ssh start Question 2: How do I enter and continue?

thunder07337

1. no # deactivates the entry. 2. ctrl + x . Then y and enter. But normally you don't have to do this if you have activated SSH during the installation...

oops.se

Why add SSH to crontab? In most distros SSH is starting automatically via systemd by default. Si what OS do you have?

akhiraa

It's true there is no need

akhiraa

Now I have to connect to my web interface but the page is not found, I don't know why

This site is inaccessible. The DNS address of raspberrypi_ip could not be found. Identifying the problem… DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE

thunder07337

Your IP is at 3 in the third line.

akhiraa

Ok nice thx

oops.se

Type ip ato find your Pis IP.

thunder07337

He had. He deleted the picture.

thunder07337

You didn't have to delete the picture. There are internal ip's that cannot be accessed from the outside.

akhiraa

Ok I wasn't sure

akhiraa

I succeeded but in the end it still doesn't work it doesn't block any ads

oops.se

That is because you don't have any clients using Adguard

akhiraa

I followed the tutorial and put my DNS directly on the internet modem

oops.se

And then you renewed the settings on all clients?

akhiraa

That's to say ?

oops.se

A DHCP client has a lease time so changing it on the router will not help until the lease time has expired. A renew of a DHCP lease can be forced and how is depending on the type of device.

akhiraa

in fact I entered it on my internet modem but I don't know if it's in the right place

akhiraa

akhiraa

my IP is xxx.xxx.x.4 should I put it here?

akhiraa

Should I put the 4 instead of the 1 or the 200?

thunder07337

No, please do not play around with the DHCP. If you have stored the IP of the Pi in the router as DNS, then everything is ok. Then you should restart the router once. If it doesn't have a button or menu for this, then simply unplug it, wait 1 minute and plug it back in.

akhiraa

I also configured it on my iPhone and it works 1 minute after restarting the internet modem after which it no longer works and it's just on my iPhone, on the root it doesn't work

thunder07337

What do you mean by root? Why on the iPhone. It is sufficient to set the DNS in the router. Or do you want to do this on every single device, that's just unnecessary work.

akhiraa

rooter = internet modem

akhiraa

Basically I want my adguard to configure it on the internet modem so there is no need to add DNS on each device.

akhiraa

But I can't configure DNS on the internet router/modem

akhiraa

akhiraa

But I think I've already done it

oops.se

DNS is sent to every device via DHCP

akhiraa

I just saw that it works well on my mother's phone but on my device it doesn't work well. Does this have anything to do with the fact that I changed my DNS?

oops.se

Im not sure what you ref to.

akhiraa

I don't know how to explain it but in any case it's not that because everything unfortunately works well. I don't know why it works on my mother's phone but not on my other devices.

thunder07337

What kind of device does your mother have? Android? You said you have an iPhone. Any more Apple devices on which it doesn't work? Or what kind of devices does it not work on?

akhiraa

Basically on my iPhone it doesn't work, on my mother's phone a Samsun galaxy S10, it works. This is for the DHCP configuration from my internet modem. Otherwise on my two Windows PCs it works but I had to put the DNS of adguard without it, it doesn't work

thunder07337

Then Apple uses its own DNS. You can either set this somewhere or not... But don't ask me, I've never used an Apple device, so I have no idea where to set this.

akhiraa

I already did it but it worked once I can't get it to work
