Hey there, i got a little problem with xmacro. When it says to press the Key i want to use to end the process, i press escape, but nothing happens, except that it types some characters, but nothing more. I'll send a pic.

creeze_fnd

<@796000224690307072> man i'm really really sorry for the ping, but if i can't make this macro, then my project won't work, and i may fail my final exams 💀💀

oops.se

Well I don't read text posted ass pictures. And then you post the picture in portrait format ... Unreadable...

creeze_fnd

oops

creeze_fnd

let me arrange this

creeze_fnd

Is it a bit better like this ?

creeze_fnd

creeze_fnd

it is supposed to display the second gray text when you press escape

creeze_fnd

but the only displayed thing is the two characters

creeze_fnd

:/

oops.se

Still posting text as pictures, as a visually impaired I don't read them....

creeze_fnd

how do i have to post it then ? the language barrier is kinda hard to get trough sometimes tbh, as english isn't my native language

creeze_fnd

do you want me to write what's in the picture ?

oops.se

Copy past?

oops.se

Or should I improve my eyesight ?

creeze_fnd

ok so, when i type sudo xmacrorec2 > /home/aubin/Desktop/mobo.bin , it displays this as it should : Server VendorRelease: 10900000 XRecord for server ":0.0" is version 1.13. Press the key you want to use to end the application. This key can be any key, as long as you don't need it while working with the remote display. A good choice is Escape.

oops.se

What OS ?

creeze_fnd

but when i press the escape button, instead of displaying this : The chosen quit-key has the keycode: 9 XQueryPointer returned: 1 Got Start Of Data Skipping... - Skipping stale KeyRelease event. 1 it displays this : ^[

creeze_fnd

pi os

oops.se

Theres no pi os!

creeze_fnd

pi os version of linux ?

creeze_fnd

on pi imager it says : a port of debian bookworm with the raspberry pi desktop

oops.se

When you created the SD card/other storage you chose a OS! Whitch one?

creeze_fnd

so the first one in the list

oops.se

Ok Bookworm, that uses Wayland, not X.11

creeze_fnd

so do i have to change the os ?

oops.se

So you cant use X applications

creeze_fnd

what os do you recommend ? ubuntu ?

oops.se

Im sure there are macro recorders for wayland

creeze_fnd

is the bullseye version ok or not ?

creeze_fnd

or do i need to use ubuntu

oops.se

Bullseye use X11

creeze_fnd

ok so let's try bullseye and see if it works

creeze_fnd

thank you !

creeze_fnd

i'll let you know if it worked

oops.se

Why not search for a wayland macro?

creeze_fnd

i'll see, but in a lack of time, i'll use bullseye first

creeze_fnd

<@796000224690307072> it works but i'm stuck again when i create the keyboard shortcut

creeze_fnd

i'll try something

creeze_fnd

ok it apparently worked

creeze_fnd

srry for the ping

oops.se

Nice

creeze_fnd

another problem just came...

creeze_fnd

not a really big one

creeze_fnd

but an annoying one

oops.se

But there is no need to ping as I notice when something happens ! So please stop with it, the only effect it has on me is that I will ignore you in the future

creeze_fnd

understood <:amongus:1004335098419757106>

creeze_fnd

the new problem is that whenever i type something on the keyboard while i'm on rasp's desktop, a little searchbar opens in the top right corner, and so my macro doesn't execute. Do you know how to get rid of this search bar ?
