Hi all, I've read a lot about raspberry pi troubleshooting and tried both replacing the power cord and the flashed SD to solve the proble with no luck. Each time, I write my username and passcode and without fail it either freezes when installing updates, or freezes after trying to open firefox for the first time. Only thing on the SD card is the flashed operating system, brand new SD card. Anyone have any tips?

The behaviour you describe could be either a power issue or a storage (SD card) issue from your description and yes I read that it was a new SD card. 1. Do you have a USB stick? If so you can create a bootable USB stick in the same way you did with the SD card and test to boot from that? 2. What Power supply do you have? Is it compliant with the spec for a Pi4 ? See the FAQ for details.

<@796000224690307072> so I changed both the power source and the SD card today. Tried numerous different raspbian installs and nothing worked. What has worked is lowering the size of the screen I am working on. I can try the usb trick if this still doesnt work. I've gotten as far as getting to chromium before it freezes again

I have a 3.5A and 3.0A power supply, which I believe is compliant

So you haven't checked it with the FAQ section?

Did you change the clocking options? If you did, that's the reason for crashes. If you clock too high, this happens.
