So, my Raspberry Pi 400 seems to be ignoring the integrated wlan0 adapter, showing only eth0 and lo in ifconfig. In the raspi-config menu, country locale setting fails with error "There was an error running option L4 WLAN Country" Although I have been trying out create_ap (hotspot, installed through pi apps) and rfkill, I don't think I've done damage. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance 🙃

That raspi-conf gives an error is understandable, the OS is believing there is NO wlan0. That your wlan0 is missing could be a faulty installation or a defect hardware. Try to make a bootable USB stick and try to boot from that and see if you can detect the wlan0.

I made the flash drive and it seems to have done the trick! However I will also try switching hardware, using a Pi 4 4GB, to ensure it isn't a temporary fix or smth. Thank you very much!

So it was a faulty OS imaging. Format the SD card and then reimaging it.
