gipo powered display proper shutoff

Can I just write this to the positive gipo pin? The timeout doesn’t seem to work. XScreensaver doesn’t work either. Would just drilling a hole in the case for this latch switch be the best practice? The ribbon will be fine staying plugged in while cutting the 5 volt + pole?

Won’t let me edit for some reason, *wire the stitch the the positive gipo pin… is what I meant

Your question is missing facts.

What facts? I’m using the official 7” touch on the display ribbon, gipo powered ona pi4b. Can I cut the positive gipo power to deactivate the monitor safely while it’s running?

Do you have a schematic for that display?

fictionss

Doesn’t appear to be one available. Checked the official page, documentation, manuals, etc. If you google it it’s wild how many people are ring to figure out a good way to turn it in and off. The only way I can think of is adding a programmable button via gipo and using a python script to switch it on/off.
