Good morning, I am about to buy a Raspberry Pi in order to be able to actively use a Pi Hole and Bitwarden on it. Later I would also like to realize other projects on it, but I am relatively new to the subject. First of all, the purchase would be important and I'm wondering which Raspberry Pi I should go for. Does anyone have any recommendations on what would be solid in terms of price/performance?

riothedev

the pi 4 is great for such purposes

riothedev

pi 3 could do it too

riothedev

if thats too expensive for you u can try looking for used pi 3s

rubyurek

The question was rather whether the price is reasonable for the Pi 4 or whether it is overpriced. 🙂

riothedev

ah

riothedev

ill check

riothedev

the pi 4 itself alone is around 55 usd

I have now bought a Raspberry Pi 5 4 GB with power supply, case, ANKER Card Reader and MicroSD 128 GB for 120€. Unfortunately it couldn't be cheaper. :S

riothedev

That's great, quite futureproof and powerful for something so small.

Im going for a similar project, but seeing as im on a budget and plan to host even more things on it in the future i got a mini pc instead.

riothedev

Well, good luck.

thanks!

What I'm just wondering is whether it would be worth installing proxmox on the small raspberry pi and creating 2 separate VMs for Adguard and Vaultwarden. Does anyone have more experience?

oops.se

I would rather go with Docker than Proxmox
