Since the Raspberry Pi OS code is open source, making some changes.. how could the system be notified about the SSD?

There is a command in linux dd, that command can be used to copy the content of a SD card to another SD card or to create a image file.

I know how to install the operating system on the Raspberry Pi, the problem is that I want to modify the code and put it on the other operating system but I don't know how to turn it into an .iso file
why do you need to modify the code?
