LED not dying without resistor

Hi! I have a quick question regarding LEDs. My understanding has been that whenever using an LED I should use it in combination with a resistor to limit the current. I have a bunch of different coloured LEDs and have noticed (accidentally) that when I wire up a blue LED directly to 5V, with no resistor, it seems to work fine. A yellow or green LED for examples dies effective immediately. What could explain the blue LED not dying? For reference the 5V source I'm using is a 65 watt capable USB PD power supply at 5V.

enabling Samba shares on Pi 5

okay, so...I'm trying to make it so that I can access my pi remotely from Windows because I'm trying to add all my games back on there that I backed up from my Pi 3B... however since I don't know what I'm doing, I got it working once I installed Samba and now I've locked myself out again... what is happening? I would just use Ubuntu and add the games that way but Ubuntu, when booted from a USB stick, keeps freezing up, my USB ports, my screen, everything, and I have to use the power switch to turn it off

connecting Motors to motor drivers

Hi all, so i am working on a little project which involves a robot chassis that comes with 4 wheels and motors. The name of the chassis is called Robot Chassis Kit NP and here is direct link for you to see https://thepihut.com/products/robot-cha ... 1900217539. I am very new to robotics and raspberry pi in general so i did struggle a lot.The motor drivers i am using is called the Pololu DRV8835 Dual Motor Driver Kit for Raspberry Pi. https://thepihut.com/products/pololu-dr ... 4113612995. I bought two of them because i was told i needed two run all four wheels, however, from this point i faced lot of issues, as i didn't realise i wouldn't have to solder parts like the female header and terminal headers which was long and difficult because i didn't know how to solder, but managed to.The real issue is the actually connecting the motor drivers to the motors, the motors come with this JST connector with this white paper clip but i didnt know or understand how this would fit into the blue terminals shown in the video demo, i then cut the paper clip of the JST connector like this.https://imgur.com/a/qjcZqGL i couldn't show actual image because it was saying it was too large, but as u can see i cut it of.I connected my motor drive to the grove base hat for raspberry pi https://thepihut.com/products/grove-bas ... 0299200707 to my raspberry pi 4b model, like this i'm not even if this correctly setup but here.https://imgur.com/a/omPlJ9h . If anyone could give me any tips, suggestions or advice on how to correctly set this up, id really appreciate it as i have struggled

Good afternoon, I have a Pihole on my home server. For some reason I am not able to use IPv6 on the Internet despite my ISP providing it. How can I troubleshoot this? I'm a bit weak on the network commands to check. Thanks in advance!

Can't connect wifi dongle to rpi 3b v1.2 for repeater project

Hello, I've been following this guide: https://hackaday.io/project/171296-truly-wifi-extender to turn my pi into a wifi repeater for a small project. However, after following all the steps i noticed that my usb dongle won't even connect to anything when it's plugged into my pi. Only my pi is connected to my home network, so i can't test if the project works. The pi recognizes that the dongle is plugged in when i type lsusb in the command line and the dongle does work when i plug into my laptop. Any help is appreciated.

Setting up an ethernet connection for VNC (Pi B+)

I'm trying to set up VNC over an ethernet connection, using several tutorials I found online. I have an Ethernet cable running from my laptop to the pi, and I want to be able to control the pi via VNC from my laptop. I've enabled wifi sharing on my laptop, and I have the cable running, but the Pi isn't connected -- the up/down networking arrows are flashing. The frustrating thing is that it was working only an hour ago, and I was able to both ping google.com from the pi and connect to it via VNC. Now it is not connected to the Internet and I cannot connect to it by VNC. The only thing I did was set the pi to have a static local IP, and reboot it.

How do i connect THIS LCD screen, no touch

I'm trying to use an old display from a Portable DVD player (used in cars). The display is a 7" 0004-JXY-A1 from Hannstar. It uses the same flatcable as the rasberryPi Camera so i thought maybe i could use this screen? Well i have some pictures attached to help you guys understand but when connecting the screen i ofc don't get an image. I need drivers or i think i could solder the screen to some pins, any ideas would be great. I do have another screen but rn i could not buy anything so i'm looking into doing it without buying other material.

Raspberry Pi 4B experiencing slowdowns

Hello, I've finished setting up my Raspberry Pi 4B and I'm noticing quite a lot of slowdowns. For example: if I want to open a window it can take quite long to open, especially compared to a PC OS (ik I shouldn't really compare, but still). Is there any way to maybe increase the speed? Am I maybe missing something? I'd appreciate help.

motor urgent help

So i set up my pi 4b, with my monitor and I connected it to a PCA9685 . I have 6motors but wanted to test only of them and i couldn’t figure it out. I have a 5V adapter for the pi and a 12v 5A adapter for the PCA9685 that will attach all of my motors. The max stall current on my motors is 2.3 A at 7.4 V. Ive also thoroughly checked all my connections as well as confirm that I2C connection was being read by my pi. Does anyone know what else i could do?

Connect multiple SATA HDD to a RPI 5

I'm looking for ossible options to connect 4-10 SATA HDD's to my pi, preferrably energy efficient. So far, I have tried external USB enclosures that are connected via USB3, but they all seem to draw more power then the RPI itself. Now, I was thinking of connecting my Pi directly to the PSU of an ATX case I have and connect the HDD's via the PSU's SATA-power connectors. The only thing left is connecting the data-sata cables to the pi. One option would be an nvme hat and one of these https://mobspares.com/en-eu/products/m2-m-eky-pcie-3-0-to-sata-6g-adapter . Does anyone have experience with this?
